Here’s to the New Year!!

Happy New Year!! I know, I know…I’m almost a week late but hey, better late then never right?!

I mentioned in a previous post that I had decided to give Project Life a try. So…I gathered some supplies at the beginning of 2014. Album? Check. Page protectors? Check. Core kit? Check. Number of pages done? None. Yup…none! Last year was the worst for me and while I have 90% of my photos printed and in a neat little pile, I just couldn’t find the time/inspiration to put it all together. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! 🙂

For 2015, I decided on a different approach…more of a journal/about me album. My life is pretty boring, to be honest, so I also scaled down my album to a 6 x 8. The big plan is to do a monthly layout with a calendar highlighting the important events in my life.

With a plan in place, I went on the hunt for a blank monthly calendar that I could decorate and had spaces big enough to write in. Free is always good but I have no problem paying for things I absolutely love. I found an amazing free blank calendar on the Heidi Swapp site but there was a problem. (Isn’t there always a problem when you really want something?!) The problem…I found lots of links to the download but the download itself was nowhere to be found. Since I couldn’t find anything that met my criteria and caught my eye, what is a girl to do? Design my own, of course! So…here it is! Free for personal use! Yay!! Just click on the image to download. Easy peasy!! 🙂

I hope you enjoy! Please leave a comment with a link if you use any of these calendars. I’d love to see your work!

Mental Health Day…Yes, Please!!

Posted on

After two chaotic, stressful weeks at my full-time job, I finally have a day off. A day off to work on my list of things I’d like to do. No dishes, no cleaning, no work. At least that’s what I intended. Instead, I’ve lounged in my pjs, caught up on my favorite tv shows, watched crafting tutorial and browsed the internet…hoping, wishing and dreaming of an organized, fully stocked craft room to call my own. As for my list of likes…I haven’t completed a single thing. But that’s OK…right? A day of doing nothing productive is alright every now and then…isn’t it? I say YES!! If it helps keep you sane then abso-freakin-lutely!! :D

Until next time…

Stay-cation

I can’t believe so much time has passed since my last post…WOW!

I’m just back from a much needed vacation and trying to get back into the swing of things. It was nice to get away from the daily grind and give my poor, overworked brain a rest. We decided on a stay-cation and I loved every minute of it! Anyone who has visited Newfoundland will tell you that it is beyond beautiful. Here’s one of my favorite photos taken on one of our outings.

Before my stay-cation, I was adjusting to a promotion at work and working on my little business on my “off time”. I must admit, I’m looking forward next year. Hopefully, my holiday will be as enjoyable as this year! 🙂

Until next time…

Finally…

Where has the time gone? After working on the new website for a couple of months (it seems more like weeks than months), I’m proud to say it’s finally done! Well…almost! There’s a few little bits and bobs to be changed here and there but for the most part it’s finished! I’m thrilled with how it has turned out and am looking forward to sharing it with the world. So…grab a cup of tea, get comfortable in your favorite chair and have a look around. I can’t wait to hear what you think! 🙂

Organized Chaos?

Posted on

I wonder if what they say is really true…a cluttered desk is the sign of a cluttered mind.

Lately, this is exactly how I feel. My craft/office “corner” (it really is a corner…in my bedroom) has become a giant pile of stuff. There is more time spent searching through the pile then there is being productive and getting things crossed off the “to-do” list. Since I’m working with limited space I know it won’t be ideal but it’ll be much better then what I have. So, I’ve gotten more storage containers and have begun to organize and label everything. I’ve even remembered to take photos! 🙂

Check back soon! I’ll have some photos and instructions for many of my DIY storage solutions!

You know that feeling you get when things are finally coming together? Well, today I’m overwhelmed with that awesome feeling!! I am beyond thrilled to announce that I will soon be supplying products from two absolutely amazing companies…Lawn Fawn and Ranger!

Lawn Fawn has the cutest stamps, dies, papers and embellishments. I completely love their stuff…so adorable and excellent quality. You can see all of their great products on the Lawn Fawn website.

Ranger has so many amazing products I don’t know where to begin. Distressed inks, stickles, markers, stamps, stencils, tools…the list goes on. You can check out Ranger’s hugh selection of products on their website.

Don’t forget to check back soon to see the awesome products I’ll have in stock! 🙂

Until next time…

Update

Posted on

Do you ever wish there were more hours in a day? I do!! 🙂

Just wanted to give a quick update…I’m still around and working on a few projects. I really need a new way to keep things organized, maybe a “To Do” list as a start!

One of the projects on my imaginary list is DIY Enamel Dots. There’s been a lot of research and some trial and error with lots of fun and a bit of frustration. All I have to do is write the tutorial!!

I’m also trying to update the look and some features of the website. Something fun and whimsical while still functional and not overwhelming. It’s really not asking for much. So when you see the site changing every other day, it’s just me trying to figure things out! 😉

Sorry…

Posted on

Hello all! It’s been a really, really long time since I’ve posted anything…I’m sorry. There’s a good reason for my absence but now is not the time to go into detail. Let me just say that I have suffered a loss that has affected me more then I could ever have imagined and if I write about it now I’ll become a sobbing mess. Maybe one day I’ll be able to tell the story but that day is not today.

So…as I attempt to get back to a new “normal”, I’m back with a vengeance. There’s lots of ideas floating around my brain so please bear with me and check back soon!

Until next time…

Decisions, decisions…oh my!

Posted on

There’s been a lot of changes going on these last few weeks and now I need to make another decision *sigh*.

I’m my last post I told you all how I decided to start this blog to showcase projects and items I’ve made. Well, it has been mentioned to me that maybe…just maybe…I should consider becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. I’ve given it a little thought but I’m truly on the fence. I like the idea of sharing my love of stamping and I really love the idea of getting a discount. I, however, don’t like the idea of being able to use only SU products in my projects. I mean really…lets be honest. Isn’t using only one brand limiting creativity? I think so. From a business standpoint, I understand why SU requires this. From a creative standpoint, not so much. There’s so many awesome products out there! I don’t like feeling limited!

Anyone who knows me can tell you research is my best friend. So, off I went to ask my friend Google. There’s lots of awesome people out there who have very valid points. Become a demonstrator or not become a demonstrator…that is the question. A question that remains unanswered. Does anyone have an opinion they want to share? I’d love to hear it!

Until next time…

Welcome!

Hello and welcome!

This is my very first post on my brand new blog. After two years of working overnights, I’m finally moving to a “normal” shift. (Yay for returning to the land of the living.) This means more time to spend doing what I love…crafting! I’m one of those people who will see a totally awesome craft and the first thing that pops in my head is how I can make it better or put my own twist on it. I guess you could say I like to think outside of the box. So, my goal – put together a site where people can go to see projects & items that I’ve made. Well…here it is!

Hopefully in the next little while I can get some more content on here…pics of my work, a page all about me *sigh*…stuff like that. For now I’m gonna say goodbye and spend some time making my little blog all pretty. Feel free to contact me with suggestions, ideas, or just to say “hi”. Stay tuned for more stuff…
